Los moteles de amor (love motels) is a suite of images taken within the interior spaces of motels that exist specifically for having sexual encounters. Taken in central Colombia, South America, these motels allow for discreet lovemaking, a necessity in a country where there is a lack of personal privacy. The photographs are devoid of the people who activate the beds, chairs, slings, poles and other equipment. Rather, the sterility of each room is emphasized, allowing viewers to imbue the banal accouterments with sexualized significance.
