Visionary Plants, an ongoing series initiated in 2009, pays homage to significant psychoactive plants that have profoundly influenced human history. These plants have contributed to global economies, challenged beliefs, incited violence, fueled addiction, inspired legislation, promoted spirituality, raised consciousness, and influenced art. For the series, I grow or source specific plants, documenting them at various stages of development before recombining dozens of original images into fantastical compositions that evoke their psychoactive essence. The plants are rendered on a much larger-than-life scale to amplify their mythological status.
